https://www.journal.fapetunipa.ac.id/index.php/igkojei/article/view/558

ABSTRACT

Plant disease control using biological agents such as Trichoderma spp., and groups of bacteria that are members of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria or PGPR is an organic farming method, which only uses ingredients that come from the surrounding environment. The purpose of implementing this PKM is to introduce farmers to an alternative control method that is safer for the environment, cheaper because it comes from their own residential environment so that it does not cost more but is effective in controlling plant pests or OPT. Another goal is that farmers can reduce the frequency of using non-organic pesticides in their daily cultivation systems. The delivery method is carried out in the mentoring method through the presentation of recipes, procedures and manufacturing techniques carried out at the Kwau Village Hall; while the training is carried out in farmers' gardens with the presentation of the parts of the sprayer used, how to mix organic pesticides, the dosage size used and the best spraying time. This training and mentoring received a warm welcome from the farming community which was marked by not only being attended by the farming community in Kwau but also by farmers from other villages around Kwau village such as Maybrij and Soubrij. Another thing that shows high enthusiasm is the curiosity about the material during the discussion and training in the farmer's garden. We hope that the material presented can add insight into the agrotourism cultivation system.

Keywords: Bamboo, Plant Pest Organisms, Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, Kwau, Trichoderma spp

Reymas RuimassaWasgito D. https://www.journal.fapetunipa.ac.id/index.php/igkojei/article/view/572

ABSTRACT

This community service program aimed to improve students’ understanding of geometry concepts by integrating STEM principles with local wisdom in West Papua, particularly through the traditional structure Rumah Kaki Seribu. The activity was conducted in Class VIII-E at SMP Negeri 01 Manokwari using a contextual ethnomathematics-based approach. Learning materials were delivered through interactive lectures, video presentations, model explorations, and group tasks using student worksheets. The results showed that students were able to accurately identify geometric elements in the traditional house structure. Student engagement significantly increased, as evidenced by active participation in discussions and task accuracy. This approach also fostered critical thinking and appreciation of local culture. The main limitation was the short duration of the program. Continuous mentoring through thematic activities and broader school involvement is recommended. This model can be replicated for teaching other mathematical topics in culturally rich regions.

Keywords: Geometry; STEM; Ethnomathematics; Rumah kaki seribu; Local culture

Haryanto Pandapotan PasaribuFervin Mayos LikumahwaWinda Sary de QueljoeAdonia Pasinggi

https://www.journal.fapetunipa.ac.id/index.php/igkojei/article/view/575

ABSTRACT

The development plan of Mosso Village as a tourist destination in the border area of Jayapura city needs to involve the local communities (Community Based-Ecotourism). In addition to the potential of hot water, Mosso Village has other Environmental Service Potentials that may contribute to the development of ecotourism areas. Community service activities were carried out from 4 to 7 September 2023 in Mosso village. Identification of the determining factors for the development of tourism areas was carried out using scoring for each variable according to the determining factors based on the opinions of respondents. We found that, community participation was quite good, and the community voluntarily involved themselves in the activity. Mosso village ecotourism has a diverse natural landscape including lowland tropical rainforests, rivers, mountain peaks and hot springs and waterfalls. This has become a major attraction for tourists seeking an authentic nature exploration experience. Variables identified as inhibiting factors need serious attention to be upgraded to moderate status or even become supporting variables for the development of Mosso village as a tourist destination. Infrastructure is indeed very much needed to support the development of the tourist area in Mosso village. The available minimum requirements, such as accommodation and communication facilities, are good. Non-timber forest product species – NTFPs, which exist and have not been optimally utilized, play an important role in supporting the development of Mosso village as a tourist destination. Economically, the development of Mosso village as a tourist destination is quite promising, because it can create jobs for the local population.

Keywords: Border zones Ecotourism; Mosso Vilage; Sustainable Forest Management;

Paulus MandibodiboFrank Leo ApituleyAmadion Andika WanaputraGaluh Putri Windhani UtamiIra Iriani BukorpioperAmsal IlindamonAlbida Rante TasakGeraldy AriefFreddy Pattiselanno

https://www.journal.fapetunipa.ac.id/index.php/igkojei/article/view/578

ABSTRACT

Natural resources, environmental sustainability, and tenure rights represent complex and persistent challenges faced by Indigenous communities across Indonesia, including in Kebar Valley, Tambrauw Regency, West Papua. This region has been under growing pressure from oil palm plantation expansion, leading to land conflicts, violence, and ecological degradation. This study explores the strategic collaboration among universities, churches, and Indigenous communities in advancing advocacy rooted in ecological justice and tenure recognition. A descriptive qualitative approach with a naturalistic paradigm and ethnographic methods was employed to uncover local narratives, social practices, and customary values that shape collective strategies in addressing structural inequalities. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of advocacy activities. The findings reveal that such cross-sector collaboration has successfully mobilized socio-political strength to promote ulayat land rights, environmental preservation, and community-based economic resilience. The 2024 Declaration of Kebar Valley as the Land of the Gospel marks both a symbolic and strategic milestone, reinforcing solidarity among actors. This partnership has created momentum for progressive policy development, including both regulatory and non-regulatory frameworks at local and national levels. The study underscores the critical role of participatory approaches, recognition of Indigenous knowledge, and integration of spiritual values in empowering Indigenous peoples in resource governance. Future advocacy efforts must encompass sociocultural, economic, and legal dimensions to ensure the sustainability of Indigenous territories and the well-being of local communities.

Keywords: Advocacy; Collaboration; Community; Kebar; Tambrauw

Dina Arung PadangYubelince Y. https://www.journal.fapetunipa.ac.id/index.php/igkojei/article/view/589

ABSTRACT

The interior of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Sambiroto, Semarang, has not created a fully supportive atmosphere conducive to solemn liturgical worship. Based on observations and interviews with church administrators, several issues were identified, including the overlap between the central cross and the projection screen, as well as lighting and decorative elements that failed to enhance the spiritual ambience. This community engagement project aimed to redesign the church interior using a liturgy-based. The method employed a design-based inquiry that combined field observation, participatory discussions, a review of the literature, and a spatial needs analysis. The output is a comprehensive interior design document that emphasizes the sacred zone through the repositioning of the altar and tabernacle, thematic stained glass, hierarchical lighting, and carefully integrated visual communication technologies. The design was validated in collaboration with the Parish Council and Pastor, and is intended for submission to the Archdiocese of Semarang. This project demonstrates that a participatory approach grounded in theological principles can yield meaningful and functional church interiors that enhance the worship experience of the congregation.

Keywords: Catholic church; interior desig;, sacred atmosphere; liturgy;, community service

Rosalia RihadianiFl.
